People have asked how we're different than other communications and production companies. While our work speaks for itself in this regard, there's more to it. We believe the deliberate method we've applied to our business model has led to whatever success we've achieved. There is a lot to that method, but a few key principles are at the heart of it:
We believe the most important quality we can bring to any project is passion. To be sure, skill and experience are vital. But, it’s passion that drives exceptional work and exceptional results. If we can’t bring that passion to a project, we simply will not do it. And, as hard as it is, we’ve had to decline more than a few opportunities where we simply could not make a passionate commitment to the product, the purpose, the cause or the mission. There’s nothing altruistic about it – it’s purely practical. If we cannot add the value of our passionate commitment from beginning to end, the client loses, and ultimately we lose as well.
Creative people often behave as if the laws of business don't apply. We, again, believe just the opposite. Exceptional results require discipline! Financial discipline - Timing discipline - Accountability. While we're in a highly creative "right brain" business, good clients demand a solid, disciplined approach to a project. We demand it of ourselves. It is a work ethic built into our company. We simply are not smart enough to deliver outstanding results without it.
3. Exceeding Expectations
Over-promising and under-delivering is a sad reality far too often in the business world and throughout our society. We go out of our way to do just the opposite - to over-deliver to every client. We're convinced that's the reason our company has grown so dramatically through repeat business and referrals.
Of course, genuine creative thinking is at the heart of all that we do. Our people continue to amaze us in this regard. Importantly, though, coming up with ideas just for the sake of ideas is useless, especially for a resource-constrained client with pragmatic, results-oriented objectives. So while we are dreamers to be sure - we try to be realistic dreamers when serving a client's communication needs. Ideas are terrific, but "implementable" ideas are pure gold.
5. Meticulous Execution
There's nothing worse than running 80 yards for a touchdown and tripping on the 5 yard line. Sadly, it has happened to all of us at one time or another - those are the hard, unforgettable lessons of life. But they're inexcusable in our business. That's why we built a full-service communication company that can, on the one hand, develop the strategy and the break-through ideas necessary to make a real impact; and then, on the other hand, implement and execute those ideas and that strategy with our own extensive production capabilities. Then we're fully responsible. Then too, we can take real pride in our work.
Jack London put it well when he wrote:
“I would rather be ashes than dust. I would rather that my spark burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stuffed out by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.”
